Typewriters & Tapas is BACK for round 2 (you know what they say…one bite is never enough with something so good!). Join us for an afternoon of great food, even better company, and lots of creativity on vintage typewriters. This will be a guided workshop-meets-supper-club experience for all skill levels.
From 1–4 PM, we’ll share plates of Bon Vivant’s tapas and drinks, learn to write short poems on vintage typewriters for each other, seal them with wax, and take them home as keepsakes. Perfect for every level (yes, even if you haven’t written since high school!). It’s part supper club, part workshop, and truly, simply, about sharing in the joy of creativity.
What’s Included:
- Bon Vivant tapas and drinks
- Poesy vintage typewriters, quill and ink, wax-sealing kit and stationary
- Take home notebook and premium paper
- A welcoming space to meet people and get creative!
What to Expect:
- A relaxed eat-yap-create environment
- Shared plates of tapas and drinks by Bon Vivant
- A beginner-friendly poetry lesson and introduction to typewriters + wax sealing
- Guided prompts and dedicated time to yap, write, swap poems, and reflect
By the end, you’ll walk away with:
- 2–3 short poems typewritten and sealed with wax (one written for yourself and 1-2 written by another you’ll meet)
- A fresh spark of creativity (and maybe a new friend at the table)
- A notebook full of ideas and inspiration so you can continue your writing streak
Perfect for a unique solo date, friend date, romantic date, hell..bring your grandma! This is just a great way to spend an afternoon differently. Whether you’re here for the tapas or the typewriters, we’d love to have you at the table — book your spot early because we keep it intimate.
Space is limited.
About Bon Vivant: Bon Vivant hosts events that bring strangers together around food. We know how hard it can be to meet new people in a big city, so we lean on the power of a shared meal to form new connections organically. Each event is prepared with care and curiosity, and always comes with a healthy dose of nervous excitement. Phones get tucked away (except for the occasional number exchange), the room warms up, and conversation takes off. These events often lead to something more: Saturday morning coffees, Sunday night lasagnas, Friday night drinks. Come hungry, open-minded, and let us take care of the rest. We can’t wait to meet you. xx
About Poesy : Poesy is home to irresistible literary experiences that bring communities together through stylish, storied moments you can write, share, and explore at live events across Canada. We’re Canada’s only literary experience agency, and the most talked-about moment at every event you walk into. We bring typewriters, poets, and the timeless art of writing into your event, and people cannot get enough of it. In a world of screens and digital noise, Poesy is radically, unapologetically analog. Featured in the New York Times, CBC, and the Globe and Mail.
