How it works
Book a live calligrapher (or two) to create personalized pieces in real-time at your event. Guests share a name, word, or phrase—and receive a handwritten keepsake in minutes. Each piece is crafted on-site using ink, marker or paint. We can provide materials or work with your products to create something extra special for your guests. Our set up includes a table sign inviting guests to “say the word, get it in cursive.” Want to incorporate your logo, wax seals, or custom materials? Just say the word— we’d love to bring your vision to life.

How many guests can you accommodate?
We recommend using this guide based on your guest count and event duration:
15–30 guests: 1–2 calligraphers for 2 hrs. (Ensures everyone gets a personalized piece with minimal wait.)
30–50 guests: 2 calligraphers for 2–3 hrs. (Ideal for mid-sized events with steady guest flow.)
100+ guests: 2–3 calligraphers for 4+ hrs. (Best for high-volume activations, galas, or pop-ups.)

Our calligraphers typically create 12–15 pieces per hour, and each one is made live, in real time. A 2-hour minimum booking helps ensure there’s enough time to create meaningful, unhurried pieces for your guests.
Can guests choose what’s written?
Yes! Guests can request names, initials, short phrases, or personal words. If you’d like us to stick to a theme (e.g. affirmations, love notes, brand slogans), we can guide that too.
Can you create pieces in advance for gifting or decor?
Absolutely. If you’d like a batch of calligraphed items made ahead of time—like place cards, gift tags, or welcome notes—we can prep those in advance and bring them to the event (or ship them to you beforehand).
Can we pair this with other Poesy experiences?
Yes! Live calligraphy pairs beautifully with our typewriter poetry or retro gumball machines. You can also book it as part of our full Writer’s Room activation—a curated space filled with interactive, writing-inspired moments your guests won’t forget.
How does this fit into our event flow?
Live calligraphy works well as a welcome moment, a gifting station, or a quiet touchpoint during busier programming. We can help position the setup so it feels natural and inviting.
What is the cancellation or rescheduling policy?
Cancel at least 30 days in advance for a full deposit refund. Need to reschedule? Let us know ASAP—we’ll do our best to make it work, based on availability.
