Frequently asked questions
How many poets should I book?
Each poet typically creates ~20 personalized poems per hour, often for individuals or pairs (since guests love getting poems done together). A 2-hour minimum booking is required to make sure everyone has time to enjoy the experience.
Note: The presence of poets creates atmosphere, conversation, and keepsakes for a meaningful portion of your crowd. We have the most impact during mingling times, when guests naturally come by the booth to chat and request a poem. For seated dinners, we can also collect prompts as guests arrive, then place personalized poems at a designated table for them to discover later.
What are the setup and space requirements for the poetry station?
Each poet needs a small table (about 2 x 3 feet) and three chairs—one for the poet and two for guests. No power source is required.
When will the poet arrive to my event?
Our poets typically arrive 30 minutes before the event begins to set up. For events outside the Greater Toronto Area, travel fees may apply based on the distance and logistics ($0.75/km after the first 10km round trip).
Can I request specific themes or topics for the poems?
Yes! We can tailor all poems to fit a specific theme, making each piece meaningful and cohesive for your event.
What is your booking and payment policy?
A 50% deposit is required to confirm your booking, with the remaining balance due three weeks before the event. Payment of the invoice confirms acceptance of our terms and conditions.
What is the cancellation or rescheduling policy?
Cancel at least 30 days in advance for a full deposit refund. Need to reschedule? Let us know ASAP—we’ll do our best to make it work, based on availability.
